A few countries including some in the GCC have already started administering booster shots of COVID-19 vaccines to their residents and now Saudi Arabia may too as well.
According to the Saudi Gazette, the official spokesman for the kingdom’s Ministry of Health, Dr. Muhammad Al-Abdel Ali, has said that the third dose will be given to those with chronic kidney disease and organ transplants.
He also stated the vaccine is still not approved for children under 12 and a study to that effect is underway.
