A Glacier In Kyrgyzstan Will Be Named After King Abdulaziz

It seems that a glacier in Kyrgyzstan is about to undergo a royal makeover. Hold your breath because brace yourself… King Abdulaziz is about to have an icy tribute named after him, as per a report in the online portal 24KG.

The Committee on Constitutional Legislation, State Structure, Judicial, Legal Issues, and Regulations of the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan is pulling out all the stops with a bill that will christen two majestic glaciers in the Issyk-Kul region.

One will honour the legendary Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, while the other will pay homage to the founder of Saudi Arabia, King Abdulaziz.

Out of a staggering 8,208 glaciers gracing Kyrgyzstan’s majestic landscape, a meagre ten have been bestowed with names.

This announcement comes just a month after the Saudi Fund for Development signed an agreement to fund two projects in Kyrgyzstan through soft loans worth $130 million.
