A Saudi Woman Became The First Woman To Swim From Saudi Arabia To Egypt And It Was For A Great Cause

This week, Dr. Mariam Saleh Bin Laden broke the glass ceiling by becoming the first woman and the first Arab to swim across the Red Sea. She swam from Saudi to Egypt.

Mariam has a rep for being a pioneer of open water swimming and her swim to Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula will definitely provide to be an inspo for millions.

She was accompanied by endurance swimmer Lewis Pugh on her swim.

Swimming in the Red Sea is definitely not the easiest of tasks as the temeartues can get really high.


They undertook the arduous swim to draw attention to how coral reefs are degrading as the oceans warm. Pugh urged world leaders in his video to take bold climate action at the upcoming COP27 summit.
