Dareen Lynn Bousman who’s famous for directing a succession of Saw films has recently wrapped up production of his latest film called Cello that was filmed in Saudi Arabia. The movie is based on a novel of the same name by the Chairman of the General Entertainment Authority Turki Al Sheikh.

The horror flick stars Oscar winner Jeremy Irons (House of Gucci) and Tobin Bell (Saw), as well as Syrian actor Samer Ismail (The Day I Lost My Shadow) and Saudi actress Elham Ali.

According to Deadline, the plot focuses around an aspiring cellist who discovers that his brand-new cello is far more pernicious than he initially imagined. Saudi Arabia-based Rozam Media financed the film and also owns the rights to it.

While the exact release date is not known, a tweet that Turki Al Sheikh’s retweeted hints that it will be sometime in 2022
