Saudi Arabia Announces Game-Changing Airline Rules That Will Compensate Passengers With Over SR6,500 For Delays

The Kingdom is rolling out some brand new airline rules that are set to make your travel experience even better!

If you’ve ever experienced the misfortune of a fashionably late plane or, worse yet, lost luggage during transit, then here’s some good news. According to the Saudi Gazette, these new guidelines may entitle you to compensation of up to 200% of your ticket’s cost in certain situations.

Let’s begin with the scenario none of us wants to encounter: lost luggage. With these new regulations, you could potentially receive a financial compensation of up to SR6,568 ($1,750) to alleviate the inconvenience.

So, the next time you’re reunited with your luggage later than planned, you’ll have a nice bonus to cushion the blow.

Or ever had an unexpected layover added to your journey? These new rules have your back there as well. If your flight suddenly transforms into a hop-on, hop-off adventure, and it wasn’t part of your original plan, you will be eligible for compensation too.

And guess what? If you ever face refusal of boarding due to overbooking or a downgrade? Fear not as you will also be compensated for it. This isn’t merely a symbolic gesture; you can anticipate receiving up to 200% of your ticket’s value!

These new regulations encompass a set of 30 articles. All designed to enhance the flying experience for travelers to Saudi.

The new rules will take effect on November 20th.
