Saudi Arabia Ends The Year As The World’s Third Biggest Donor Of Humanitarian Aid

Avatar

Saudi Arabia has always been one of the most generous humanitarian assistance givers. Even last year, while the globe was still recovering from the pandemic’s impacts, Saudi Arabia gave out a massive USD 1,239,894,591 in humanitarian relief.

Saudi Arabia has often demonstrated its long tradition of munificence and Islamic values of charity by giving out generous doles of aid.

According to the most recent Global Humanitarian Overview, 235 million people are in need and face an uncertain future, and the COVID-19 epidemic has produced “the deepest global recession since the 1930s.”

Saudi Arabia provides 5% of the world’s humanitarian assistance according to the financial tracking service of the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs.

Neighbouring Yemen was one of the primary recipients of Saudi Arabian aid.

Of late, Saudi Arabia has increased its aid to Afghanistan, which is experiencing one of its worst humanitarian crises.
