Saudi Arabia Will Be Building The World’s First Nonprofit City Near Riyadh

Showing the world how it’s done.

Saudi Arabia’s magnanimity is well known, and now the country is taking this legacy forward by building an entirely new city dedicated to non-profits. Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman unveiled the new city, which would be built near Wadi Hanifa in the Riyadh neighborhood of Irqah.

It’s been dubbed “Nonprofit Silicon Valley” by some.

The new city will be called the Prince Mohammed bin Salman Nonprofit City.

It will devote about 44% of the total area to green open spaces in order to encourage sustainable development. Now, that sounds like a nice place to live in.

Academies, colleges, ‘Misk Schools,’ a conference center, a scientific museum and a creative center will be housed in the new city. An arts academy, an art gallery, a performing arts theater, a play area, a cookery academy, and an integrated residential complex will also be built here.
