Saudi Football Fans Can’t Get Enough Of Steven Gerrard’s First Attempt At Speaking Arabic
The football world’s shakeup continues as a Saudi club makes another big signing, this time in the form of Steven Gerrard, who has been roped in to coach Dammam-based Al Ettifaq.
Gerrard apparently had a bunch of job offers lined up, but rumors started swirling about a proposal from Saudi Arabia. At first, he declined it, even after visiting the country. But then talks resumed, and he finally came on board reports Sports Bible.
The former England star’s appointment is quite significant, especially considering the recent wave of high-profile players joining Saudi clubs.
Anyway, Al Ettifaq officially announced Gerrard’s appointment on Monday. To mark the occasion, they even shared a video of him attempting to speak Arabic. It was quite the sight! The 43-year-old tried his best to address the club’s fans in Arabic.
Gotta give him credit for trying, but boy, did his strong Scouse accent stir up a storm on social media! Saudi football fans were nonetheless loving it.
