The holy month this year will be quite different than how it&#8217;s usually practiced due to the COVID precautionary measures.<\/p>\n<p>While friends and family normally share dishes, break fast together in iftar tents and visit each other, this will not be the case this year.<\/p>\n<h2>Today&#8217;s COVID briefing revealed that only members of the same family and within the same home are permitted to share meals<\/h2>\n<div style='clear:both;'><\/div>\n<p><!--infeed--><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\"><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/NCEMA?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#NCEMA<\/a>: For the health &amp; safety of society, we advise all to avoid evening gatherings during Ramadan, limit family visits, &amp; avoid distributing &amp; exchanging meals between homes &amp; families. Only members of the same family living in the same house can share meals<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/TogetherWeRecover?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#TogetherWeRecover<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 NCEMA UAE (@NCEMAUAE) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/NCEMAUAE\/status\/1371821283583873027?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">March 16, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>The National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA) are urging the public to avoid gatherings during the month of Ramadan for safety reasons. In an effort to reduce public gatherings, <a href=\"https:\/\/lovin.co\/dubai\/en\/latest\/ramadan-tents-dubai\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">iftar tents will not be part of this Ramadan month<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>While it&#8217;s tradition to share meals with neighbors during the holy month, it is not allowed to happen this year. However, if you&#8217;re keen on providing meals, you must only do so in coordination with charities through donations and zakat, electronically.<\/p>\n<h2>Hosting family tents, sharing meals in public or distributing iftar meals in front of homes and mosques are not allowed this Ramadan<\/h2>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\"><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/NCEMA?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#NCEMA<\/a>: It is not allowed to create family or institutional iftar tents, share meals in public places or provide &amp; distribute iftar meals in front of homes &amp; mosques. Those interested in doing so, must coordinate with charities. This year, restaurants are prohibited from doing so inside or in front of the venue.
