Qatar will Host the Women’s Asian Cup Qualifiers instead of Jordan Due to Rising Tensions
The Asian Football Confederation recently confirmed a change of plans for the Women’s Asian Cup Group A qualifiers. Originally set for Jordan, the matches have been moved to Qatar amidst ongoing regional tensions.
Original Host Nation Encountered Issues
The qualifiers were initially scheduled for Amman, Jordan, running from June twenty-third to July fifth. However, increasing conflict between Israel and Iran in the region led to concerns about safety and logistics. Several participating teams raised these issues with the AFC.
Qatar Stepped In As The New Host
The AFC officially announced that Qatar would now host the Group A fixtures. The new dates for the matches are set from July seventh to July nineteenth. Further specifics regarding venues and exact timings will be revealed later.
