On June 9th, social media was rife with allegations of Sheikh Jassim Bin Hamad Bin Jassim Bin Jaber Al Thani of Qatar acquiring Manchester United at long last.

The post, which has received over 1.3 million views, was written by a fake @FabrizioRomanax Twitter account impersonating Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano.

Romano is renowned for his understanding of football and is frequently relied upon as a source for news.

According to a report by ESPN, H.E. Sheikh Jassim of Qatar made a fifth offer to purchase Manchester United on June 7th.

According to insiders who spoke to ESPN, this will be his final offer, and the process ended on the same day. Yet, the takeover of Qatar has not been officially announced.

This is not to mean that there won’t be any prospective news about the Qatar takeover in the coming days.
