Grab an umbrella… or maybe just stay inside!

So, what’s in store? Think fast-changing skies, pop-up thunderstorms, and sudden bursts of rain that come and go before you even have time to grab an umbrella. According to the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority’s Meteorology Department, these storm cells can bring intense lightning, strong winds and even localized dust storms, sometimes all within a matter of minutes!

The name “Al-Sarayat” reflects just how unpredictable this season is. These storms usually appear in the evening, light up the sky with stunning thundery clouds, and then poof, they’re gone just as quickly as they arrived.

What does this mean for you?

  • If you have outdoor plans, keep an eye on the forecast. It’s best to have a backup plan!
  • Drive carefully during sudden storms, as strong winds and heavy rain can cause reduced visibility.
  • If lightning strikes, stay indoors and avoid open areas.
  • Secure any loose objects outdoors, as gusty winds can send things flying.

While Al-Sarayat may bring some wild weather, it also delivers some of the most breathtaking stormy skies you’ll ever see! So keep your cameras ready! Just stay safe and check weather updates regularly because, with this season, anything can happen.
