Doha Metro Celebrates Over 200 Million Riders Since Its Launch
The Doha Metro has reached a monumental milestone, recording over 200 million riders since its launch in 2019, as announced by Qatar Railways Company (Qatar Rail). This achievement reflects the growing trust among residents and visitors in the metro as a reliable, efficient, and world-class transportation option.
Initially, the metro took approximately 3.5 years to reach its first 100 million riders by January 2023. However, the second 100 million riders milestone was reached in under two years, demonstrating a rapid rise in passenger confidence and usage.
A Game-Changer in Public Transport
With a network of 37 stations across the Red, Gold, and Green Lines, the Doha Metro offers unparalleled connectivity to key destinations, including tourist attractions, event venues, and Hamad International Airport. Its integration with services like metrolink buses, metroexpress vans, and the Lusail Tram enhances the travel experience, ensuring seamless movement for passengers.
Supporting Qatar’s Global Events
Over the past five years, Doha Metro has played a pivotal role in supporting Qatar’s successful hosting of more than 20 international and regional sports events. From the FIFA Arab Cup 2021 to the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, the metro system has implemented efficient operational plans to cater to high passenger volumes while ensuring safety and reliability.

Customer satisfaction rates stand at an extraordinary 99.75%, with the metro achieving 99.64% punctuality and 99.99% service availability. Such metrics showcase the metro’s adherence to global standards and its commitment to providing a top-tier experience for all users.
