Doha Ranked Second Safest City in the World for 2025!

Bader Alaa

A new global study has ranked Doha as the second safest city in the world for 2025, trailing only Bern, Switzerland. The ranking comes from the Risk Map 2025, a study conducted by Safeture and Riskline, which evaluates cities based on travel risks, crime rates, health concerns, and environmental factors.

Doha’s Remarkable Safety Record

Doha’s high ranking is a testament to its robust infrastructure, low crime rates, and effective safety measures. The city continues to be a beacon of security for both residents and visitors. This achievement follows its recognition in the Numbeo Crime Index 2024 Mid-Year Report, where Doha was ranked as the third lowest crime city globally, with a crime index of just 16.1—well within the “very low” category.

Global Safety Trends

The report also sheds light on concerning trends in global security. Safeture and Riskline noted that safety conditions have worsened in 77 countries, with regions such as the Middle East, including Israel, Gaza, and Lebanon, categorized as extremely dangerous. Other high-risk areas include Somalia, Syria, Sudan, Yemen, and Ukraine.

Europe, historically a stable region, is also seeing increased risks due to political unrest and environmental challenges. Countries like France, Spain, Sweden, and the UK have moved into the “moderate risk” category, highlighting the global shift in safety dynamics.
