Imagine exploring one of the smallest yet safest countries in the Middle East—Qatar—on a budget. That’s exactly what Eli Snyder did, and he was pleasantly surprised by how much fun $10 could get him!
Starting off, he couldn’t help but drop some fun facts: Qatar hosted the World Cup, it’s super safe, and despite its size, it packs in a whole lot of charm. His adventure began with a ride on the super clean and crazy affordable metro. Seriously, it was a steal compared to other cities!
Next stop? The lively Souq Waqif! He dove into the bustling market and treated himself to Karak, coffee, and a chapatti, all for just a few bucks. The souq was bursting with activities, and the food options? Endless! It was a total win for anyone wanting to experience local vibes without breaking the bank.
And of course, a visit to Qatar wouldn’t be complete without checking out the National Museum of Qatar. He was blown away by how stunning it was—and couldn’t believe that such a world-class experience came at such a low price. It’s way cheaper than attractions in other countries, but just as amazing!

Reflecting on his trip, Eli shared, “While the wealthy Gulf countries aren’t places I could see myself living, if I had to pick ONE to live in, it would be Doha—extensive & affordable metro, multicultural yet there’s actually a uniquely Qatari culture, nice souks, a couple UNESCO World Heritage sites, good vibes.”
By the end of his trip, this traveler left with more than just memories, he left with the feeling that Qatar is an incredible place to explore, even on a budget.
