On Sunday, France bestowed the highest French rank of merit, the Legion of Honour, with the status of “Knight” upon Lolwah Al Khater, Qatar’s Minister of State for International Cooperation.

Al Khater was awarded a knighthood by the state of France

The honour comes after many “fruitful” discussions in France with government representatives, lawmakers, and academics.

The meetings covered the Syrian situation, the continued instability in Sudan, the support for the Lebanese people, and events in Afghanistan.

Doha and France agreed to closely coordinate their humanitarian aid efforts after signing a statement of intent on collaboration and partnership in international development.

The talks are slated to take place in Paris before the second round of the Qatar and France Strategic Dialogue, while the Qatari Foreign Ministry withheld the precise date.
