Hamad Airport Welcomes 13.7 Million Passengers In Q3 2024
Hamad International Airport (DOH) celebrated a milestone achievement, reporting over 13.7 million passengers served in the third quarter of 2024. This impressive figure marks a robust 7.9% growth in passenger numbers compared to the same period last year, affirming the airport’s reputation as a premier global aviation hub.

Passenger Traffic Growth
Passenger numbers reached unprecedented heights this quarter, driven by heightened demand for air travel. July, in particular, set an all-time monthly record with 4.74 million passengers, followed closely by 4.71 million in August and 4.25 million in September. Key markets driving this growth included the Middle East, notably Saudi Arabia, UAE, and Bahrain, as well as Europe, with Spain, the UK, and Germany leading the way. Notably, China showed exceptional growth, increasing by over 43% year-on-year.
Aircraft Movements and Operational Efficiency
Hamad International Airport recorded 71,425 aircraft movements in Q3, representing a 6.2% rise over last year, with a balanced flow of take-offs and landings each month. These figures underscore the airport’s strategic importance as a rapidly growing aviation hub.
Cargo and Baggage Handling
Supporting global trade and supply chains, Hamad International handled 670,643 tonnes of cargo in Q3 2024, a 13.5% increase compared to Q3 2023. With over 11 million bags processed, an 8.9% rise from last year, the airport demonstrated its commitment to operational excellence.
