Hamad General Hospital Is Closing For Two Years For Renovation

Qatar’s premier Hamad General Hospital will be closed for two years beginning in September for renovations.

The maintenance programme will be implemented in stages; the first stage will see inpatients transferred to Aisha Al-Attiyah Hospital and the Medical Care and Research Centre without the use of outpatient clinics and operating rooms.

The development project was conceived by the Public Works Authority and has been prepared over the course of the last five years.

According to Al Sarq, the Public Works Authority’s QAR 4.1 billion project will also see to the renovation of Qatar Academy Sidra and the restoration of the Ministry of Municipality’s veterinary laboratory facility.

The renovation projects’ specifics, nevertheless, have not yet been made public, and officials have not made any public remarks on the subject.

For around 30 years, the 603-bed Hamad General Hospital has provided services in trauma, emergency medicine, paediatrics, critical care, speciality surgery, specialised therapy, laboratory medicine, and radiology.
