The crescent of the blessed month of Ramadan will be close to Jupiter on the evening of Wednesday, the 30th of Sha’ban 1444 AH, which corresponds to March 22, 2023, according to Dr. Bashir Marzouk, an astronomer at the Qatar Calendar House.
Here’s when you can spot them:
From after sunset on Wednesday until the time of the crescent’s setting, the Ramadan crescent moon and Jupiter can be seen with the naked eye or with astronomical instruments above the western horizon of the sky.
Sunset will be at 5:46 PM Doha local time, and the crescent will set at 6:36 PM.
And on the second Friday of the blessed month of Ramadan, March 24th, the crescent of the blessed month of Ramadan and Venus will be visible together with the unaided eye towards the western horizon of the sky of Qatar from after Friday sunset until Venus setting time, which will be at 8:25 pm Doha local time.
On March 28th, you can see Mars and the Moon together with the naked eye towards the southwest horizon of the country’s sky from after sunset at 5:49 pm until 12 minutes before the time of Mars setting after midnight on Wednesday, Doha local time, as Mars will be at an angular distance of approximately 2.3 arc degrees south of the centre of the moon.
