Helsinki, Finland – His Highness the Amir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and the President of the Republic of Finland, HE Alexander Stubb, held an official session of talks at the Presidential Palace in the Finnish capital, Helsinki. This historic meeting marks a milestone in the 50-year diplomatic relationship between the two nations.
At the start of the session, President Stubb warmly welcomed His Highness and his accompanying delegation, underscoring the significance of this first official visit by the Amir to Finland. He emphasized the importance of the long-standing relationship between Qatar and Finland, expressing his eagerness to strengthen mutual cooperation and explore broader avenues of collaboration.

The discussions covered a wide range of topics, including investment, economy, energy, education, and international cooperation. Both leaders also addressed key regional and international issues, with a special focus on the latest developments in Gaza and the occupied Palestinian territories.
The session saw participation from several high-ranking Qatari officials, including HE Sheikh Saud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Chief of the Amiri Diwan, and HE Saad bin Sherida Al Kaabi, Minister of State for Energy Affairs, among others. Their Finnish counterparts, led by HE Veli Taviu, Minister of Foreign Trade and Development, were also present, contributing to the dialogue on strengthening bilateral relations.
Following the session, His Highness and President Stubb held a bilateral meeting to further discuss ways to enhance cooperation and address matters of mutual concern. Both leaders expressed optimism about the future of Qatar-Finland relations and their commitment to fostering a closer partnership for the benefit of their nations.
