Japan Airlines Announces A New Nonstop Flight Route To Doha

Beginning in the summer of 2024, Japan Airlines (JAL) will operate a new nonstop daily service between Tokyo (Haneda) and Doha, Qatar. The first direct flight from Japan to the Middle East will be on this route.

This makes the carrier the first Japanese airline to run a direct flight to the Middle East

The news is especially exciting considering the recent mutual visa exemption scheme that Japan and Qatar established, which means heavier traffic between travelers from both countries to one another.

Additionally, through its relationship with Qatar Airways, a oneworld® member, Japan Airlines will make it possible for customers to easily travel to Africa and South America by introducing this route.

The anticipated service will be run in conjunction with Qatar Airways using Boeing 787-9 aircraft.

The present Qatar Airways service between Doha and Tokyo will continue to be a codeshare route.
