Ministry of Labour Lifts Summer Ban And Outdoor Work Resumes With Safety Measures

Bader Alaa

The Ministry of Labour has officially lifted the seasonal ban on outdoor work as of September 15, 2024, signaling a return to normalcy for workers across the country. This seasonal ban, which is in effect each year, restricts outdoor work during the peak heat hours from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. to reduce the risk of heat stress among workers.

This initiative, established under Ministerial Resolution No. 17 of 2021, is a crucial measure aimed at ensuring the well-being of those working in the heat of the summer months. The Ministry emphasizes the importance of adhering to health and safety standards as workers resume their outdoor duties.

With the end of the ban, it is essential for employers and workers alike to continue prioritizing safety by following all recommended precautions, including staying hydrated and taking breaks to avoid heat-related illnesses. The Ministry remains committed to protecting workers and ensuring a safe working environment throughout the year.
