H.E. Minister of Justice and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Ibrahim bin Ali Al Mohannadi announced a circular determining working hours for ministries, government agencies, and public institutions during the holy month of Ramadan.
On the occasion of the Holy Month of Ramadan 2024, it was agreed that government employees’ official working hours throughout the blessed month would be five hours each day, beginning at 9 a.m. and ending at 2 p.m., according to the circular.
Employees may be allowed to arrive late until 10 a.m. at the latest, provided that they meet work requirements and finish the mandatory working hours (five hours).
The remote work system will be implemented during the blessed month, with a maximum of 30% of all employees permitted to work remotely. Priority is given in this regard to Qatari mothers and people with disabilities, as long as it does not cause problems with their job requirements.
In the health and education sectors, the Ministry of Public Health and the Ministry of Education and Higher Education will separately set official working hours and schedules that are suitable to the nature of the work.
The private sector working hours will be announced by the different companies’ human resources departments.
