On May 30, 2024, Qatar’s Ministry of Labour announced new summer working hours to protect workers from the effects of the heat. The new rules will take place from June 1 to September 15, 2024.
The Ministry has decided to prohibit work in open spaces during the hottest part of the day. From 10:00 AM to 3:30 PM, outdoor labor will be banned to safeguard workers from extreme heat conditions.
The primary purpose of these restrictions is to reduce heat-related illnesses among workers during the hot summer months. These new working hours are part of Qatar’s ongoing efforts to enhance labor conditions and protect worker welfare over the summer months.
To protect workers from the dangers of heat stress in the summer, the decision to ban working in open spaces is enforced from June 1, 2024 to September 15, 2024, and from 10:00 am to 3:30 pm.#molqtr pic.twitter.com/rQflZTYuQA
