As autumn began this September, Qatar enters a transitional phase between the intense heat of summer and the cooler days of winter. September marks this shift, bringing with it the promise of milder weather and increased relative humidity.
According to the Qatar Meteorology Department’s (QMD) latest climate report, the month will see a rise in cloud cover, leading to chances of rain, particularly in the afternoons. Some of these showers may even be accompanied by thunder, offering a refreshing break from the dry summer days.

The winds in September are expected to blow mainly from the east, with light to moderate speeds. As the temperature gradually dips, the mean daily temperature for this month has decreased to 33.1 degrees Celsius, a noticeable drop from August.
Looking back at historical data, the lowest temperature ever recorded in September was in 1964, at a cool 20.3 degrees Celsius, while the highest was in 2001, reaching a scorching 46.2 degrees Celsius.
As the new season unfolds, Qataris can look forward to a blend of warm days and cooler nights, with the occasional rain adding a touch of autumnal charm.
