The state of Qatar said it will not stop providing aid to the Gaza Strip

The State of Qatar said on Saturday that the Israeli occupation forces’ bombing of the Qatari Reconstruction Committee’s headquarters in the Gaza Strip last week would not deter it from providing aid to the Strip, and that the “crime constitutes a blatant violation of international law and an extension of the approach of targeting humanitarian work.”

This was stated by Qatar’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Sheikha Alya Ahmed bin Saif Al Thani, during an informal meeting of the United Nations General Assembly on the humanitarian situation in Gaza, which was held at the organization’s headquarters in New York at the request of Qatar, the League of Arab States, and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.

Qatar has sent tons of humanitarian aid to Gaza since the beginning of the aggression on Gaza

Sheikha Alya stated that since the beginning of the war, Qatar has sent approximately 10 planes loaded with more than 358 tons of aid to Gaza, including a field hospital, shelter supplies, and medical and food materials, to the Egyptian city of Al-Arish.

She highlighted that, over the years, Qatar has provided humanitarian and development assistance to the Gaza Strip in collaboration with the UN in order to improve the deteriorating living conditions in the Strip as a result of the ongoing siege.

Qatar and several Arab countries condemned the Israeli occupation forces’ bombing of the Qatari Committee for the Reconstruction of Gaza

Last Monday, Qatar and several Arab countries, including Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, condemned the Israeli occupation forces’ bombing of the Qatari Committee for the Reconstruction of Gaza, which is located on Al-Rashid Street next to the Gaza Port.

Sheikha Alya reaffirmed her country’s condemnation of all forms of civilian targeting by the Israeli occupation and warned of the dangers of collective punishment policy, including attempts to forcibly displace Palestinians

Qatar’s UN representative reaffirmed her country’s condemnation of all forms of civilian targeting as well as “serious violations of international law and international humanitarian law committed by the occupation authorities.” She also emphasized that targeting civilian objects, such as the occupation forces’ storming of the Shifa Medical Complex in Gaza, is a war crime and a flagrant violation of international law and international agreements, specifically the Fourth Geneva Convention.

Sheikha Alya warned of the dangers of collective punishment policy, including attempts to forcibly displace Palestinians.

According to the latest official Palestinian census released on Friday, the Israeli occupation forces are launching a devastating offensive against Gaza for the 43rd day, resulting in more than 12,000 martyrs, including 5,000 children and 3,300 women, as well as more than 30,000 injured, 75% of whom are children and women.
