Qatar Expresses “Concern And Disappointment” In Taliban’s Decision To Suspend Women’s Education

Back in August 2021, Taliban has barred girls from secondary school, restricted women and girls’ freedom of movement, excluded women from most of the workforce and banned them from using parks, gyms and public bathhouses.

Taliban has enforced its decision to suspend the university-level education of women in Afghanistan and Qatar publicly expressed their “concern and disappointment” in the decision

Countries worldwide are publicly condemning this decision including Qatar, the UK, the UAE, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, the USA, Germany, France, Australia, and many more

The UN Human Rights High Commissioner Volker Türk described the ban as “another appalling and cruel blow to the rights of Afghan women and girls and a deeply regrettable setback for the entire country”.
