As part of preps for the very fast approaching Fifa World Cup 2022, Public spaces around Qatar are being transformed into a vast outdoor museum as part of an initiative by Qatar Museums.
Public spaces being transformed include railway stations, airports, parks, hotels, deserts and even souks!

40 artworks will be added to the already existing 70 pieces scattered across the country along with a vast public art program that will expand to all the country’s region which is expected to attract millions of visitors from across the globe, and in turn elevate Qatar’s tourism and economy.

Public art is one the most prominent aspects of our cultural exchange, Said HE Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of Qatar Museums Authority (QMA) Sheikha Al Mayassa Bint Hamad Al- Thani.
Her Excellency also elaborated that these new artworks vary in size and shape, and include a wide range of topics, which enhances the mission of Qatar Museums to bring art closer to the masses, encourage them to participate in it, celebrate our heritage, and embrace the cultures of others.
