Qatar Joins UN Women’s Executive Board For The First Time

The United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women’s (UN-Women) Executive Board’s first session saw the participation of the State of Qatar for the first time.

This is the first time Qatar takes part in UN Women’s executive board

Speaking during the session, H.E. Sheikha Alya Ahmed bin Saif Al-Thani, Permanent Representative of Qatar to the UN, expressed Qatar’s happiness at joining the Executive Board of UN-Women.

HE Sheikha Alya Ahmed bin Saif Al-Thani emphasised Qatar’s desire to engage and collaborate with the UN-Women Executive Board for the upcoming time in order to significantly advance the position of women in all facets of life and at all levels in her address to the Council.
