The Qatari delegation began its adventure at the 2023 Arab Games in Algeria, which began on July 5 and will last until July 15, 2023, with a silver medal in athletics.

After recording a mark of 2.16 metres in the high jump competition, Hamdi Al-Amin took home the silver medal

Al-Amin expressed his joy at earning the first medal of the mission at the Arab Games, revealing that he had been aiming for the gold medal, but that he would try to make up for that at the subsequent competitions.

After clocking a time of 45.97 seconds, Qatari runner Ashraf Othman qualified for the 400-meter finals for men.

Approximately 3,500 athletes from 22 nations compete in 20 sports during the Arab Games in a variety of tournaments and disciplines.
