Report: Sheikh Jassim May Bid For West Ham United If Manchester United Deal Falls Through

The Qatar Investment Bank, led by Sheikh Jassim, has reportedly chosen West Ham United as the best rival to Manchester United for a takeover, according to the Spanish publication El Pais.

Sheikh Jassim is currently battling with Sir Jim Ratcliffe over purchasing Manchester United from the Glazers.

If Sheikh Jassim’s offer for Manchester United is rejected, rumours have it that he may try to buy another Premier League team

In order to purchase Manchester United, the Qatari banker recently made an upgraded, last-minute bid to Raine Group, the merchant bank managing the transaction on behalf of the Glazers.

Sheikh Jassim has begun to focus on other teams in England’s top division, since the Glazers allegedly prefer Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s offer from Ineos.

After co-owner David Gold passed away in January 2023, West Ham’s co-owner David Sullivan is apparently open to offers for the team.

If an agreement were to be reached, Sheikh Jassim would probably make a bid for 100% of West Ham, much as he did with Manchester United.

Additionally, the Qatari sought to pay off Man United’s £969.6 million debt and included a separate fund intended only for the team and the neighbourhood in his proposal.
