Qatari mountaineer Sheikha Asma Al Thani has once again made history, this time at the Everest Tourism Award 2025, where she was honored for her remarkable journey in mountaineering and her efforts in encouraging women in adventure sports.

She shared her gratitude for the honor, emphasizing that her achievements are not hers alone but belong to her family, guides, teams, and all those who have supported her along the way.
Sheikha Asma has been a trailblazer in high-altitude mountaineering. On October 11, 2024, she became the first Arab woman and Qatari to climb two mountain peaks exceeding 8,000 metres high without an oxygen device, a feat that includes climbing the Seven Summits and reaching both the North and South Poles. This milestone solidified her place as a pioneer in adventure sports and an inspiration to aspiring climbers worldwide.
In an Instagram post, she reflected on the significance of her journey:
“Every summit I’ve stood on, with the Qatari flag in my hands, has been a moment of immense pride and gratitude, a tribute to my country and all it represents.”
