The Souq Waqif Art Center has opened its doors to ‘Gaza in Our Eyes’, an exhibition featuring the works of 32 artists from Qatar and abroad.

The exhibition aims to capture the resilience and suffering of the people of Gaza, who have been subjected to ongoing violence and displacement.

The paintings on display depict the devastation caused by the recent Israeli aggression, as well as the courage and determination of the Palestinian people. The artists have worked tirelessly to produce these masterpieces, spending three weeks in workshops to capture their emotions and perspectives on the conflict.

Rowdha Al Mansoori, Manager of the Souq Waqif Arts Center, stated that the exhibition is a testament to the power of art to convey deep emotions and raise awareness about important issues. She explained that the title ‘Gaza in Our Eyes’ reflects the personal experiences of the artists, who have channeled their feelings onto canvas to create powerful and moving works of art.

The exhibition features a diverse range of artistic styles, including expressionist graphics and portraits of key figures who have emerged from the Gaza conflict. Tanks and doves of peace are also prominently featured, symbolizing the ongoing conflict and the yearning for peace.

‘Gaza in Our Eyes’ is a powerful reminder of the human cost of war and the resilience of the Palestinian people. The exhibition is open to the public until October 20, 2024, and is a must-see for anyone who wants to understand the situation in Gaza and the impact of the conflict on its people.
