Qatar ranks 55th on the list of the world’s most powerful passports in 2023

Qatar ranks 55th on the list of the world’s most powerful passports in 2023, according to the Henley Passport Index.

In 2023, Qatar passport holders can access a total of 126 countries either visa-free or with visa on arrival. This places Qatar behind other countries such as the United Arab Emirates (UAE) at 21st, Singapore at 2nd and Japan at 1st on the list.

It’s worth noting that the ranking of a country’s passport doesn’t only reflect the country’s political or economic strength, but also the diplomatic relations and agreements a country has with other nations. It’s also important to note that Qatar has been making strides to improve visa requirements for international travelers.

In recent years, Qatar has been making efforts to attract more tourists and foreign investment by simplifying visa procedures and promoting itself as a destination for business and leisure. For example, in 2017, Qatar introduced the e-visa system for eligible travelers, which allows them to apply for a visa online and receive it in a matter of minutes.

The Henley Passport Index is a ranking of all the world’s passports based on the number of destinations their holders can access without a prior visa. The index is updated in real-time throughout the year, as and when visa-policy changes come into effect
