The United Nations Will Adopt The ‘Doha Political Declaration’ During LDC5
The Doha Political Declaration will be adopted by the end of the week-long Fifth United Nations Conference on the Least Developed Countries (LDC5) in Qatar.
The LDC5 is the biggest UN conference to be held since the COVID-19 pandemic
Sheikha Alya Al Thani, the permanent representative of the Gulf nation to the UN, made the declaration on Sunday during a press conference outside of the LDC5.
The Qatari official pointed out that the declaration’s approval strengthens the Doha Programme of Action (DPoA), a deal designed to aid the development of least developed nations.
The construction of an online university and the implementation of a system enabling the countries to build resilience are two of the DPoA’s deliverables.
There are 46 least developed nations, according to the UN.
