Officials claim that during the past two years, the frequency of injuries brought on by occupational heat stress has dramatically decreased in Qatar due to rules protecting workers.
To combat the summer heat, Qatar introduced a regulation in May 2021 prohibiting work in outdoor areas between the hours of 10:00 AM and 3:30 PM from 1 June to 15 September.
The 2007 law that forbade working outside from 11:30 AM to 3 PM between June 15 and August 31 was superseded by this one. The judgement also mandated a number of security measures for businesses to guarantee worker security.
Authorities have since kept up their initiatives to raise awareness of the risks of heat stress while at work in order to stop deadly accidents.
