Tourism to Qatar has gone up 347 percent from the same period last year

International tourists increased by 295 percent year over year to 340,000 visitors in January 2023 and by 406 percent to 389,000 visitors in February 2023, respectively.

Except for the months of the FIFA World Cup 2022, February saw the highest number of foreign visitors to Qatar in the previous ten years, making it the busiest month for travel there.

Doha, the Arab Tourist Capital of the Year, also played host to a number of prestigious athletic competitions in the first two months of the year, including the Qatar TotalEnergies Open, Qatar ExxonMobil Open, and the GKA Freestyle Kite World Cup 2023.

Visitors from both nations increased significantly in the second half of February as a result of the celebrations of Kuwait National Day and Saudi Foundation Day.

There were 20,000 passengers from Kuwait and 86,000 arrivals from Saudi Arabia, which combined made up 27% of total international arrivals and 73% of GCC arrivals in February.

In January and February 2023, travellers from Saudi Arabia accounted for 22% of all visitors to Qatar.
