Weather Update! Doha Expected To See Dusty Skies Starting Sunday

Strong dusty winds are set to sweep across Doha starting tomorrow, with authorities urging drivers and residents to take extra precautions as visibility and road conditions are expected to worsen.

According to weather forecasts across Qatar, the incoming weather system will bring powerful gusts along with dust in the air, a combination that can significantly reduce visibility on highways and busy city roads.

These conditions are especially risky during peak traffic hours, where sudden drops in visibility can catch drivers off guard

Officials are advising motorists to slow down, keep a safe distance between vehicles, and ensure headlights are on when visibility drops. Drivers of larger vehicles, such as trucks and buses, are also being reminded to stay alert, as strong crosswinds can affect vehicle stability.

Residents, meanwhile, are encouraged to limit outdoor activities where possible, particularly those sensitive to dust and air quality changes. Wearing masks outdoors and keeping windows closed can help reduce dust exposure during peak wind periods.

Dust storms and strong winds are not uncommon in the region, but sudden weather shifts can still disrupt daily routines,  from traffic delays to flight schedule adjustments. Authorities will continue monitoring conditions and issuing updates if needed.
