One of the largest car dealerships in the nation has received 36 fines from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry for breaching contracts with customers when delivering cars.
This is against Article (11) of Law No. (8) of 2008 on Consumer Protection, and was reported to the appropriate authorities for legal action.
This was done in response to complaints the Ministry monitored on its various communication channels, which claimed that some car dealerships had broken their agreements and were delaying the delivery of new cars that were ordered or reserved even though they were supposed to be delivered immediately.
The Ministry declared that any violation of the requirements outlined in Law No. (8) of 2008 and its implementing rules regarding the protection of consumers’ rights will be dealt with harshly.
Also, the Ministry is stepping up its inspection activities to find violators and report them to the appropriate authority so they can face the consequences.
