In its annual report for 2022–2023, which was released earlier this month, Qatar Airways declared a healthy financial profit.

The airline had a net profit of $1.21 billion during the fiscal year 2022/2023

An astonishing $21 billion was reported as its overall revenue, up 45% from the last year.

The airline, which is the Official Airline Partner of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, attributes its successful strategy to network expansion and rising demand.

Qatar’s impressive performance last year was aided by the more than 1 million people it transported to the FIFA World Cup.

In total, the airline’s passenger numbers increased almost 70% from the previous year.

Other noteworthy financial feats are:

  • Revenue from passengers grew by 100%.
  • With yields up 9% and a load factor of 80%, which was the highest in the airline’s history, capacity increased by 31%.
  • Due to increasing capacity, market share grew.
  • Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation (EBITDA) margin of 23% at $4.9 billion, up $30.2 million from the prior year.

The airline carried nearly 32 million passengers, a 71% increase. 1.4 million of the 32 million people were on their way to the FIFA World Cup 2022.
