Qatar Says The Early Camping Permit Circulating On Social Media Is Fake
Heads up, campers! The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MoECC) has issued a stern warning about a fake announcement circulating on social media claiming that camping is allowed in Sealine and Khor Al Udeid starting from yesterday, October 19.
The Ministry has confirmed that this is fake news
The official camping season in Qatar for the year 2023-24 will begin from November 1, 2023, and will conclude on April 30, 2024.
So, if you see anyone pitching their tents in Sealine or Khor Al Udeid before November 1, they’re either camping illegally or they’ve been duped by the fake announcement.
The MoECC is urging the public to get their camping news from official sources only. Don’t be fooled by unofficial and unknown sources that are just trying to pull the wool over your eyes.
In the meantime, if you’re itching to get your camping fix, you can start planning your trip and booking your campsite through the Ministry’s website from October 22 to 31.
And remember, campers: leave no trace behind! Respect the environment and keep our camping grounds clean and beautiful.
