Eid Made Easy for Hamad Medical Corporation

Good news from Hamad Medical Corporation ! This Eid, their hospitals and ambulance services had a surprisingly smooth and calm holiday, with fewer emergency visits and everything running efficiently. Here’s how they made it happen.

Emergency teams ready for the rush

To begin with, the hospital staff and ambulance teams were fully prepped for Eid, ensuring everything went off without a hitch. Dr. Aisha Al-Sada confirmed that the teams were well-staffed and operations flowed seamlessly. Unlike previous years, the caseload didn’t surge, and patient issues followed typical holiday trends. Specifically, the Ambulance Service handled 799 calls on the first day of Eid Al-Adha. Of these, over 500 were urgent Priority One calls, requiring immediate attention. Additionally, 21 calls were related to road traffic accidents, and three patients needed airlifted ambulance transport.

Patient breakdown and common complaints

Looking at the numbers, it turns out that 53% of the 799 patients were male, with the largest group being those aged 15 to 30, accounting for 212 cases. The majority of complaints were related to stomach issues, followed by traffic accidents and general sickness. Moreover, Paediatric Emergency Centres also had a high number of visits. However, Dr. Mohammed Al Amri highlighted that it was pretty much a normal day, with only one child needing admission for asthma from Al Wakra.

Smooth sailing for the holiday

Overall, Hamad Medical Corporation experienced a much smoother Eid compared to years past. Their preparation and well-organized teams helped ensure that the holiday went by without any major disruptions. As a result, with fewer emergencies and a well-prepared team, it was a much-needed relief for everyone involved.
