H.H. The Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and H.E. Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad Al Thani hosted a special dinner as part of the Qatar Economic Forum and the setting? None other than the future site of the Art Mill Museum (how cool is that?).The guest list was just as impressive: global movers and shakers from the worlds of business, politics, art and culture all gathered in one place.

The vibe was all about Qatar’s vision for a thriving creative economy. There was even a super inspiring panel on architecture and culture, featuring big names like Hans Ulrich Obrist, Chilean architect Alejandro Aravena, and Lina Ghotmeh (she’s the one designing Qatar’s national pavilion for the Venice Biennale!).
Set to open in 2030, the Art Mill Museum is one of Qatar Museums’ most ambitious projects. It will transform a historic flour mill on the Corniche into a world-class destination for modern and contemporary art, strategically located between the Museum of Islamic Art and the National Museum of Qatar. The museum’s design is led by ELEMENTAL, the Chilean architecture studio headed by Pritzker Prize winner Alejandro Aravena. Complementing its cultural purpose, the site will also feature a serene public garden by VOGT Landscape Architects, offering a peaceful escape in the heart of the city.
The museum will showcase an extensive collection spanning 40 years of art and creativity — including painting, sculpture, photography, architecture, fashion, and film. As Qatar positions itself as a leading hub for innovation and culture, the QEF dinner at the Art Mill Museum site served as a symbolic moment of alignment between the country’s economic vision and cultural ambition.
