Doha’s equestrian world just got a new champion! 🇶🇦 On January 4th, Harry Charles, the British rider, clinched first place at the H.H. The Father Amir’s Prix after a thrilling jump-off at Al Shaqab. With 248 talented riders from all over the globe competing for over EUR 530,000 in prizes, the event was a showcase of world-class skill. The highlight? Harry Charles edging out Scott Brash for a well-deserved victory! And who crowned him? None other than Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani, adding an official royal touch to the already prestigious event.

The H.H. The Father Amir’s Prix kicked off on January 2, 2026, with an impressive turnout of 248 riders from countries like Qatar, Italy, and Britain. The event marked the official launch of Doha’s new equestrian tour, putting the city on the map as a key international destination for equestrian sports. It’s no surprise that Qatar continues to build its reputation in this arena, with the support of prestigious events like this one.

On January 4th, Harry Charles raced against some of the world’s best riders and clinched victory in the CSI4 Grand Prix* at Al Shaqab. With an impressive time of 38.20 seconds, he edged out fellow Brit Scott Brash, who finished second. The exciting jump-off was a true test of skill, with Harry’s performance earning him the top spot. His victory was celebrated in a prestigious ceremony, with Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani, Chairman of the Doha Equestrian Tour Organising Committee and President of the Qatar Olympic Committee, presenting him with the trophy.

The next round of the H.H. The Father Amir’s Prix is coming up from January 8–10, 2026, and it promises more action! This round will serve as qualifiers for the FEI Group VII Finals, bringing even more global riders to Doha. With Qatar continuing to cement its place as a leading equestrian hub, the future of this sport in the region looks bright.
