Since 2006, UCQ has been a key player in Qatar’s healthcare system, offering high-quality nursing education. The university’s programs, like the Bachelor of Nursing and Master of Nursing, have trained professionals now leading in clinical practice, education, and healthcare leadership.
Professor Hala Sultan Saif Al Easa, UCQ’s President, emphasized the significance of the day: “These graduates are the result of years of hard work. They will continue strengthening Qatar’s healthcare sector.”
Although UCQ will close, its impact endures through strong partnerships with healthcare organizations. UCQ worked with Hamad Medical Corporation, Sidra Medicine, and Primary Health Care Corporation to provide students with hands-on experience. The university was the first in the Middle East to earn Best Practice Spotlight Organization (BPSO) status, promoting evidence-based nursing practices.
Dr. Janet Rankin, Interim Dean of UCQ, expressed her thoughts: “This graduation marks the end of UCQ’s operations, but not its impact. Our graduates’ dedication is part of Qatar’s healthcare system.”
UCQ’s contributions will continue to influence Qatar’s healthcare sector. The legacy of its graduates and faculty members will remain strong. As the final cohort graduates, UCQ’s influence on nursing education in Qatar will continue to grow through the professionals it has trained.
In a final gesture, Alanoud Hamad Al-Marri, Distinguished Alumna from Hamad Medical Corporation, led the graduates in reciting the Graduates’ Pledge. The ceremony marked the continuation of UCQ’s legacy in Qatar’s healthcare system.
