Lusail Boulevard’s Main Road Will Be Closed Until February 17th For Upcoming Events

In preparation for a series of major events scheduled to take place in Lusail City throughout 2024, the city has announced the temporary closure of Lusail Boulevard’s main road starting from Sunday, December 31, 2023, until February 17, 2024.

The closure is necessary to facilitate the extensive preparations and set-up required for these high-profile events. During this period, motorists will need to use alternative routes to access Lusail City.

The closure will affect a stretch of Lusail Boulevard between the Pearl Monument and the Lusail Iconic Stadium.

Affected roads include the main access routes to the Qatar Foundation, Lusail Iconic Stadium, and other key locations in the city.

Motorists are advised to plan their journeys carefully during this period and allow extra time for travel. Alternative routes include:

  • For journeys between Lusail City and the West Bay area, use Al Khor Highway or Al Thumama Street.
  • For journeys between Lusail City and Doha, use the Doha Expressway or Al Wakrah Expressway.
  • For journeys within Lusail City, use the secondary roads that provide access to different neighborhoods.

The closure of Lusail Boulevard’s main road is expected to cause some disruption to traffic in and around the city. However, the organizers of the upcoming events have assured that they are working closely with the Qatari authorities to minimize the impact on motorists and residents.

The closure is scheduled to end on February 17, 2024, and Lusail Boulevard’s main road will reopen to traffic as usual.
