In a noble endeavor to uphold the spirit of Ramadan and foster communal harmony, the General Department of Endowments at the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs has unveiled plans to distribute over 700,000 Iftar meals across 20 locations in Qatar.
The ambitious initiative, part of the ‘Iftar Saim’ campaign for Ramadan 2024, was announced during a press conference held at the Ministry’s headquarters in Al Waab.
Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Ghanem Al Thani, Director of the General Department of Endowments, outlined the campaign’s objective to provide sustenance to more than 24,000 fasting individuals daily, underscoring its strategic approach to cater to diverse communities.
“The selection of 20 locations for the Iftar program was meticulously done based on population density and labor areas,” Sheikh Khalid emphasized, highlighting the campaign’s inclusive reach.
The distribution of Iftar meals will be conducted through Ramadan tents set up at 15 locations, including prominent areas such as Ain Khalid, Al Sailiya, and the Industrial Area. Moreover, additional distribution points will be established at key urban hubs like the Old Airport, Umm Ghuwailina, and Souq Faleh, ensuring widespread accessibility for all members of the community observing the holy month.
