MoCI Shuts Down Car Agency In Qatar For Violating Consumer Protection Law

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) has announced the temporary closure of Sky Motors – Rox agency for one month after the company was found in violation of Qatar’s consumer protection regulations.

According to MoCI, the closure was issued under Article (9) of Law No. (8) of 2008, which requires suppliers to provide all guarantees offered by the manufacturer or agent. The agency reportedly failed to deliver these guarantees, leading to the enforcement action.

The ministry emphasized that this decision reflects its ongoing commitment to protect consumer rights, ensure market transparency, and promote fair competition in Qatar’s commercial sector.

MoCI continues to urge all companies and agencies operating in the country to comply fully with consumer protection laws, warning that any violations will result in strict legal and administrative measures.

This move is part of a wider effort by the ministry to uphold trust in Qatar’s marketplace and safeguard the interests of consumers.
