The Occupational Safety and Health Department organized the campaign, reaching workers across various industries. It successfully educated them about the signs of heat stress, including dizziness, headaches, and fatigue. The campaign provided practical tips, urging workers to stay hydrated, take breaks in shaded areas, and wear light clothing with proper headgear while working outdoors. Workers were encouraged to stop immediately if they felt exhausted, find shade, drink water, and seek medical help if necessary.
Specialists from the Ministry of Labour, the Ministry of Public Health, and the Workers’ Support and Insurance Fund participated, stressing the importance of early prevention and basic safety practices. They highlighted how simple measures could reduce heat-related illnesses and improve worker well-being. The campaign also urged companies to implement key preventative steps, such as:
Offering annual heat stress prevention training by May each year
Providing cold drinking water throughout the workday
Setting up cool, well-ventilated rest areas
Offering annual medical check-ups to identify heat risks
Collaborating with workers to assess and manage workplace heat risks
This initiative demonstrates the ministry’s commitment to worker health and safety. It reflects ongoing efforts involving both the public and private sectors to ensure secure working environments. The campaign is part of a broader series of awareness and safety programs that the ministry runs year-round. These efforts aim to foster a strong culture of occupational safety, ensuring that workers’ health is a top priority, especially during extreme weather conditions.
