Qatar just slammed the door on fraudsters in the spiritual world and it’s not messing around. The country’s penal code now fully criminalizes witchcraft, quackery, and all kinds of shady “supernatural healing.” If you’re caught practicing, promoting, hosting, or covering up these acts, you could be sentenced to 3–15 years in prison and fined up to QR 200,000.
According to the updated Law No. 22 of 2015, which amends Qatar’s Penal Code (Law No. 11 of 2004), the crime covers anyone who “uses words, actions, or methods” to trick people, making them believe in their ability to cast spells, predict the future, read minds, or “know the unseen.”
